Materials selected for the media center are based on the guidelines set forth in the McDowell County Schools Library/Media Handbook.
Knowing that democracy rests on the assumption that the educated, free person can be entrusted with self-determination, the McDowell County Public School System endorses the American Library Association Bill of Rights and the American Association of School Librarians Interpretation of that Bill. It also endorses Access to Electronic Resources, Services, and Networks: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights.
