Old Fort Elementary Learning Commons
Read  - Build - Lead - SOAR

The Old Fort Elementary (OFE) Learning Commons is a shared research, reading, and project based learning environment with open and versatile scheduling.

The facility is arranged to allow independent, small group and whole class studies use of the area simultaneously.

We serve the Old Fort Elementary School Community whose mission is to create opportunities to be problem solvers, compassionate leaders and difference makers.

Who We Are

The Learning Commons is located in the School Library Media Center. It is a hive of activity in which students come to research, tinker, explore, read and relax. Throughout the day one will see collaborative lessons taught by the Media Coordinator, Classroom Teachers, Special Area Teachers, and Instructional Assistants. Students also visit the Learning Commons before school, during lunch and when released from class to use the materials independently. With open and versatile scheduling, information and materials are provided to students at their "point of need."
